Subject Progress, explained: how the Mock Centre decides a unit is really "done"

In one lineThe Subject Progress card shows, for each of the four papers, how many of its units you have fully practised and how many you have mastered. It is honest on purpose: reading a unit or watching its video moves the bar by exactly nothing.

Where to find it

On the home screen, directly under the Revision due card. Four bars — AFM, PPB, IE&IFS, RBWM — with a line of text on the right.

The Subject Progress card. AFM: 14 of 35 units done, 9 mastered. The bar length is the 'done' fraction. The 30-Minute Plan sits inside the same card.

Reading one line

Take the AFM row: 14/35 units done · 9 mastered.

💡 Why so strict? Because a progress bar that fills when you look at things lies to you, and a lie here costs you on 22 November. The card says it under the bars: "A unit counts only when every one of its MCQs is completed · 75%+ in its mock = mastered". If the bar is at 40%, you have practised 40% of the subject. No false comfort.

How to move a bar

Open Unit Mocks from the home tiles (or use Continue learning at the top of the home screen — it reopens the last unit you were in).
Pick the next unit in the subject. Run it in Learning mode first: answer, Save & Check, read the explanation, next. Units have between about 17 and 150 questions, so a big unit may take two or three sittings.
When the unit's questions are all answered at least once, the unit becomes done and the bar moves. If your best score in the unit mock was 75%+, it is also mastered.
Scored under 75%? Your wrong answers are already in Revision Due. Clear them over the next two weeks, then re-run the unit mock in Exam mode — a 75%+ score now flips it to mastered.
Continue learning reopens the last unit you were in, with a small progress bar for that unit. The unit name is the same as the book chapter, so you can read and practise in step.

The Mastery Map — the same information, unit by unit

Tap Mastery map → on the card (or the map tile) and the four bars unfold into all 165 units on one screen.

The Mastery Map. Grey = untouched, amber = practised, green with a tick = mastered (75%+ in the unit mock). AFM Module A is mostly green; PPB is mostly amber — practised but not yet mastered.

Three colours, one rule each:

Use the map for planning, not for feeling good: the grey squares in a module you thought you had covered are exactly the questions you will meet in the exam and have never seen. Tap any square to open that unit.

"Only 30 minutes today?" — the card inside the card

The 30-Minute Plan lives at the bottom of the Subject Progress card.

Bad days happen. Tap this and the app builds a fixed half-hour out of four blocks — 10 minutes learn (the next unit's concept deck and video), 10 MCQs, 5 minutes on your mistakes, 5 minutes of due revision — and ticks them off as you go. It is designed so that even a 30-minute day moves a bar somewhere.

What "good" looks like across three months

Time to examUnits doneMastered
90 days~25% of each subjectyour strongest module green
60 days~60% of each subjecthalf of what is done
30 days90%+ — nothing greymost of it
Last 10 days100%whatever is amber gets a re-mock

The Readiness Score uses the same "done" units as its coverage ingredient (20 of the 100 points), so filling these bars raises your score directly — see guide 3.

Common questions

I finished the video and the concept deck. Why is the unit still grey?
Because you have not answered its questions. Videos and decks teach; only answering counts as practice. Open the unit mock.
I answered 60 of a unit's 61 questions. Why is it not done?
One left. "Every one of its MCQs" means every one. The Continue learning bar shows how far you are.
On the free demo the other three subjects say "🔒 demo".
The demo opens AFM (Module A units) so you can try everything. A Subject Pass or the Online Mock Centre unlocks the rest, and your AFM progress carries over.
🖥️ Try it on your own account. Every feature in this guide is live in the Mock Centre — the free demo (AFM) includes all of them. Full access for all four subjects: Online Mock Centre · one subject: Subject Pass.
