The JAIIB exam tests current law. Most study material stopped years ago. This is our running list of the drift-prone figures — the textbook position versus the current position — across all four subjects, verified as of July 2026.
| Topic | Textbook says | Current law | Since |
|---|---|---|---|
| GST slabs (AFM) | 0/5/12/18/28% | 0/5/18/40% — GST 2.0 | 22-9-2025 |
| Bank nomination (PPB) | 1 nominee | Up to 4 nominees | 1-11-2025 |
| Beneficial owner threshold (PPB/KYC) | 25% company · 15% firm | >10% for all entities | 2023 |
| SFB priority-sector target (PPB) | 75% of ANBC | 60% of ANBC | June 2025 |
| MSME classification (PPB/IE&IFS) | Micro ₹1 cr · Medium ₹50 cr | Micro ₹2.5 cr · Medium ₹125 cr | 1-4-2025 |
| Equity LTCG (AFM) | 10% above ₹1 lakh | 12.5% above ₹1.25 lakh | 23-7-2024 |
| GDP base year (IE&IFS) | 2011-12 | 2022-23 | Feb 2026 |
| ATM interchange/customer charge (PPB) | ₹21 | ₹23 per transaction | 1-5-2025 |
…and the list keeps going: KCC limits, MUDRA categories, deposit-insurance operational details, and more. Across our 25 books we currently track 15+ such drifts, each flagged inline exactly where the topic appears — in the notes, in the mock explanations, and in the rapid-revision Numbers Bank.
Exam question banks lag the law. On any given drift, a live paper might test the current position — or recycle an older question written to the textbook position. If you only know one answer, you are gambling. If you know both — "the book says X, the law since [date] says Y" — you can read the question's framing and answer whichever it is asking. That is the standard every question in our series is written to.
